Evaluation- Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
The questionnaire we did during the planning stage presented that the most popular age group for thriller films was fifteen to twenty five. This is something which remains the same. In my questionnaire I found out action thrillers were the most popular genre of thriller enjoyed by my target audience. This is something I have chosen to juxtapose by choosing to do a mystery thriller. This is something I hope my target audience will be adaptable towards.
I think our film still meets its target audience. One of the ways we did this was by making our main character, April Greene, someone a lot of our target audience could relate to. Specifically we chose to dress her in jeans, vans and a khaki jacket which most of our target audience probably earn some version of as they came from the shops we found they specifically liked. Another thing way April Green meets our target audience is by her personality. She is a normal teenager who does normal things such as talk to her friends on the phone and hang out with her friends and go on her laptop and use Spotify which we found is app our audience also like. This would create some form of connection between her and the audience which would create a sense of familiarity. Additionally, we see April travelling alone to her friends. This is something most of our target audience have probably done in the past.

Taken has a similar target audience to ours and this is also presented through how the audience can relate to the character of Kim played by Maggie Grace. This is similar to my film and the character of April. April is also a character which some of target audience will be able to relate to. Additionally, both films present families of the victims which are probably of a similar size and shape to our target audience' families. Taken presents teenagers travelling. This is something many of our target audience may have done or be doing. We also portray this with April travelling to her friend's house.
